‘The Exorcist’ is one of the horrifying films. It not only got hit at the box office but also earned money in millions. In 1973 director William Friedman brought William Blatty Novel ‘The Exorcist’ from Box Office. The story of the movie is about a girl who is possessed by a demon. The movie did sacred every individual who watched it.

However, it is believed that the movie itself is ‘cursed’ and After reading these points will convince you:

The crew and cast members heard strange sounds, faced injuries, and even deaths while shooting the film.

#1. ‘The Exorcist’ movie is inspired by a real-life incident. Back in 1971, William Blatty wrote the novel after Catholic priests performed a real-life exorcism on a boy Ronald Doe who was possessed by demons. The family of Ronald requested to change the gender of the character in his novel so that boy identity remains intact. After the exorcism, Ronald led a normal life.

#2. The set of the movie which was supposed to be Mac Neil home caught fire due to which shooting got delayed. According to the Director William Friedkin, some pigeon entered the circuit box due to which fire caused. However, Reagan room was not at all affected by the fire.

#3. Ellen Burstyn who played the role of Reagan mother in the movie suffered from an injury in reality when Reagan throws her on the ground. The whole scene is used in the film and what you see is a genuine expression of the actress.

#4. Actors Jack MacGowran and Vasiliki Maliaros died during the post-production of the movie. They both even died in the film too. Linda Blair’s Grandfather and Max Von Sydow brother also died while they were shooting for the film. Max brother died on the very first day when he started shooting.

#5. Linda hurt her back badly while filming one of the possession scenes. After the release of a film, she even got death threatening calls due to which the studio-hired a bodyguard for her.

#6. Mercedes McCambridge in 1987 went through a very bad incident. Her son killed his wife and children after which he ended his life also.

#7. People who wanted to watch a movie in Romanian premiere faced thunder and lightning in order to reach the theater. Televangelist Billy Graham stated, “There is a power of evil in the film, in the fabric of the film itself.” When it was first released the film was banned in every Middle Eastern country but Lebanon (the re-release was banned in Lebanon).
