‘Humans Of Hindutva’ Parody Page!!
Folks!!! Enjoying living in the 21st century? How can you? Because giving voice to your opinion is still not acceptable here. Recently, the South Indian actress, Parvathy became a victim of cyber-bullying for putting forward her view on the dialogues of Malayalam actor Mammootty’s film Kasaba as she found it to be sexist and misogynist. And now here is another incident which proves the above saying right.
Do you know about the page on Facebook ‘Humans of Hindutva’?? If not let me tell you it was a parody/ controversial page used to comment on right-wing fundamentalism, current events, casteism, moral policing and others as well. The people who have open-minded and progressive thinking used to love the page and views shared him on it.
For his satirical statements on all this, the anonymous admin of the page received abuses from all the people who got offended by his words. Earlier in September this year, he had deactivated the page because of the abuse he had received. Though, he soon activated the page and started posting on it.
Recently, the abuse took one step forward as the offenders came to know about his phone number and started giving him death threats. This time for his family’s safety he decided on to delete the page.
“I’m quitting out of my own accord. I’ve not been banned or mass reported. I have recently received some threats to my life which I can’t take lightly. I am outnumbered, live in a BJP state and come from a middle-class family with no political or police connections. I have no desire to end up like Gauri Lankesh or Afrazul Khan. Actually, more than myself I worry for the safety of my family. I hope those who threatened me consider this as a victory and leave us alone. I have deleted the HOH page and will delete this website soon. Congratulations to Hindutva for winning this David vs. Goliath fight. As for those who were kind enough to lend me their ears for the last eight months, I’d like to wish you all a Happy New Year. Cheers and Alvida. Thanks for giving me some of your time.” the admin of the page wrote about his decision on his website Satyanash and then deleted the Facebook page.
The page debuted in April, gained huge popularity and got ended in just 8 months.
