Guess who Gave her the First Break!!
No, I am not talking about that cute close-up ad of her where she became my personal favorite. You will be shocked to know that her first break was given by none other than singer and actor Himesh Reshamiya. Remember that song ‘Naam Hai Tera’ where she is flaunting her leggy beauty? Yes, it was the first time when producers and directors saw her as an Indian movie actress. Apart from this, Deepika Padukone was seen in numerous famous commercials and songs, and finally got a break with her south Indian movie ‘Aishwarya’.
When we Found Our Dreamy Girl
After being awarded as ‘model of the year’ in 2006, she was confident enough to step forward but Deepika knew the consequences of not having a godfather. People told her that models can’t act but for Deepika, acting was not just a process of being in the Industry. She always wanted to become an actor, which made her join the acting school of Anupam Kher where she worked hard to learn acting and dancing. But what happened next was just unbelievable. In just one year, she got a break opposite king khan Srk. ‘Om Shanti Om’ which was released in 2007 was her first Hindi movie that gave her a new name Dreamy girl. The elegance and beautiful look of Shantriprya made Deepika Padukone an overnight star.
When Nothing Was Going Right!
After a breakthrough and winning hundreds of best female debutante awards her career graph suddenly got down, and despite her movies and performance, media started talking about her relationship with Ranbir Kapoor. She kept making impactful presence by working in the blockbuster like Love Aaj Kal and Bachna Ae Haseeno, but then Kartik Calling Kartik, Break Ke Baad, and Lafangey Parideny happened. People started blaming her personal life and she was being criticized by experts. After being together for more than two years, Ranbir and Deepika parted their ways in 2010.
When she broke the Stereotype
“Sometimes you need a heartbreak to create history”. This is exactly what happened with Deepika Padukone. In 2012, her movie Cocktail changed her career massively. Her ambitious character Veronica was being loved by everyone, and after cocktail, there was no looking back for Deepika. With movies like Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, Piku, Ramleema, Race-2 and Bajirao Mastani, Deepika became a powerful actress who could carry a film on her shoulders.
