         Incidents of callous medical behavior!!

In the year 2017 and now in 2018 as well we all have heard about the negligence by the hospitals in giving the medical care to the patients. We all heard about the incident in which a patient suffering from dengue was given a bill of lakhs and also about the other one in which twins were handed over to family in a plastic bag but one out of them turned out to be alive. Today, I have another such incident that happened in one of a hospital in the United States.

In the mid of a night, the hospital dumped out a patient on the road in a cold temperature of -1 degree Celsius. The woman patient was wearing only a hospital gown.

The whole incident came to light when Facebook user Imamu Baraka, a doctor of Healthcare Administration (DHA) student shared videos of the woman.

In the post, he wrote “I just witnessed this with my own eyes. I had no choice but to give this young lady a voice in this moment”

“I remind you of the importance of the VISION of your MEDICAL CENTER: ‘UMMC will be known for providing high value and compassionate care, improving health in Maryland and beyond, educating future health care leaders and discovering innovative ways to advance medicine worldwide.’ You can do better. You must do better.“ he said.

The whole incident is called the ‘patient dumping’ which is done with mentally ill patients who can’t pay for their medical expenses. However, it’s not confirmed that this case was under this or not.
