Senseless ‘Padmaavat’ Debate
Padmavati which is now turned into Padmaavat from the beginning day of its promotion faced criticism and protest as some people believe that the makers of the film have done distortion with the story. In the name of ‘Padmaavat Ka Virodh,‘ we all have seen how director Sanjay Leela Bhansali was harassed, a dead body was found in Nahargarh Fort and how Karni Sena is protesting and opposing the release of the movie.
Though, the Supreme Court of India given it a permission of nationwide release after the CBFC granted it U/A certification it is still facing the oppose. In the ongoing Padmavati controversy, many celebs from the film fraternity came forward in support of it. Recently, the actress Renuka Shahane shared her view through a post on Facebook.
She posted a photograph with a red cross on people calling for a ban on Padmaavat. The Hum Aapke Hai Kaun actress shared three pictures of herself calling for a ban on rape, female foeticide, and sexual molestation.
She has always remained vocal on social media about the controversial incidents. She also shared her opinion on the Ryan murder case.
Her powerful post on how it is not necessary to ban creativity and films but the other real issues that are prevailing in the country makes a lot of sense. It’s really a high time that our society understands that there is a huge difference between the real life and reel life issues. From my point of view, I am in support of the actress opinion. Instead of banning a movie we need to take some strict action against the rape, female foeticide, and sexual molestation.
