‘PadMan’ movie is all set to hit the theaters on 9th February 2018. The film is an Indian biographical comedy-drama based on a story of Arunachalam Muruganantham who invented low-cost sanitary pads. Arunachalam Muruganantham on his Instagram account posted a picture of his while holding a pad in his hand and initiated #PadManChallenge.
And nowadays the ‘Padman Challenge’ has become Bollywood’s latest trend. Celebs are posting their picture on Instagram account while holding a sanitary napkin in their hand. Few of the stars wrote a caption:
“Yes, that’s a pad in my hand and there’s nothing to be ashamed about. It’s natural! Period.”
See below who all-stars participated in the challenge by breaking stereotypes:
#Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma:
Well, in midst of this challenge, comedian Supriya Joshi raises a point which we all missed to notice. On her Facebook post, she mentioned: “I felt so empowered and inspired and I wanted to do the challenge too, but at this time everyone had thrown away the opened pads and I continued to bleed through my clothing.”
“Kudos to the champion of all causes Akshay Kumar and his amazing marketing team for championing this cause!” she also revealed.
In the end, she wrote “I am just one of the “Stupid comedians trying to grab their share of fame” and not a real-life woman who may have an objection with a campaign that is wasteful, gimmicky and totally misses the point of de-stigmatizing periods.”
