India is a country where people are allowed to speak out their opinions & as it is a democratic country people are allowed to choose the language which they want to speak. We the citizens of India are well aware of this fundamental right given to us. Right?? But, Bihar Police is not.
Recently, an incident took place in the Khagdiya district of Bihar where two police officers thrashed a 12th standard boy. Why? because he asked them a question in English. These officers also locked him for 3 days behind the bars.
The Victim named Abhishek Kumar is in the hospital and is suffering from wounds on both his legs and hands. The boy was on his way to meet a relative that had been booked in a bike theft case, As per Deccan Chronicle. With the bike’s documents and bail money, he had reached the station to help out his relative.
As after the proper documents the police was not releasing his relative, the victim asked a question in English:
What is the reason behind his detention?
He said “The officers looked at the documents but did not release him. When I asked them the question, they caught hold of me and started beating me up.”
When he was released on bail, he lodged a fresh complaint with the SP Meenu Kumari. As the inquiry was done the station house officer (SHO) Mukesh Kumar and ASI Shyam Sunder Singh were found guilty and then suspended.
